Sunflower Journeys Program 1303
The Road Builders: Sunflower Journeys transports viewers back in time to review the construction of the first public roadways in Kansas. It examines the manner in which local residents worked together to build permanent roads in their rural communities. Interurban Rail Lines: These lines once fanned out from Kansas City toward Lawrence, St. Joseph and several other communities, carrying passengers and produce in coaches that cruised quickly through the countryside. Kaw Corridor Study: Considering changes expected to take place in this region over the next 25 years, a transportation study suggests possible alternatives to minimize traffic congestion between Topeka and Kansas City.
