This premiere episode of “Sunflower Journeys” begins with the dedication and opening of the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan.  The program continues with a story about recent developments related to tourism in the Flint Hills and features a “Plains People” segment on Bill and Julia McBride, who live near the small town of Matfield Green.
